Common roof problems in Brighton
Brighton is Regency and Victorian terraces with parapets, butterfly roofs draining to central valley gutters, natural slate, and bay windows carrying small lead or felt roofs. Very little of it looks like suburban West London.
Salt air and coastal wind are hard on fixings and lead. Nails corrode faster here and lead flashings on exposed elevations work loose sooner than they would inland. Anything relying on mastic instead of a proper mechanical detail has a short life on this coast.

When we come out
Roof repairs in Brighton: what we check
Brighton roofs take a beating from salt air and coastal wind. Fixings and lead wear faster than inland, and repairs that rely on sealant rather than a proper fixed detail do not last long here.

Would you really come to Brighton for a roof?
For an emergency call-out, no, and it would be unfair to pretend otherwise. For a planned job booked in advance where you specifically want us, yes. Ring and we will be straight with you about whether it makes sense.
